Day 4: Walkathon and Man Made Beach

See, we still manage to wake up early the next day. This is what you call dedication. :P Actually, me and my roomies woke up for the free breakfast, Melay on the other hand missed it and was starving during this walk. She didn't eat until we reach the Olympic Stadium.
Again, another photo overlooking Barcelona. We must have taken photos at all points overlooking Barcelona. :P I forgot what the place is called but it is near Poble Espanyol. Same place that we went last night. We wanted to eat there but we were asked to pay 8 Euros entrance fee. I wonder why we didn't push through. This is the only time that we said NO to anything.

We ended up eating here, the Olympic Stadium. It's free entrance. Thinking about it, you can get in in most places in Barcelona for free. The food is shitty in this place though.

Cable Car Ride. We took 3 cable car ride that day. One for the Fortress that reminds us of Fort Santiago(free entrance again), one to go to another stop and lastly, to go to the man made beach. Again, we saw Barcelona on a different angle. :P

This shot was taken by Lloyd. Llyod being my official photographer. He said that he is gonna charge me one Euro per shot. I would have been broke if he did that. You can see the man made beach from here. We took few photos in here. It was 5PM then and Me and Melay were both itching to go to the beach so we started chanting - beach, beach - while the guys are taking photos with the canyons and hellicopters.

Barcelona's man made beach. I was supposed to post our photos but I click Jack's by accident. We spend at least 2 hours here. I wanted to lie down, sleep and get my tan even but I was left to look after their things while they swam. Good thing Melay was back early. I was able to sleep for a bit. :) I must add, there were loads of topless women of all ages in beach. When I say all ages, I mean, grannies and young ladies alike. For dinner, we ate at a restaurant nearby.

Nothing was planned that night. Me and my roomies were hungry by 11PM so we snuck out to buy Junkfood. The dinner wasn't enough. :P Both my roomies know that I will go for McFlurry. I ate ice cream everytime I had a chance then. I think I tried 5 new McFlurry Flavours through the course of the trip. Me and Lloyd had diarrhea the next day. We both went for McFlurry.

Day 3: Montserrat/ La Terrazza

This day may be one of the best days on our trip. I think we reach Montserrat after lunch. According to wikipedia, Montserrat is located in Catalonia near Barcelona. This place is highly recommended if you want to see nature. We had lunch over looking the rocky mountains. We then take photos of the monument were you aren't allowed to climb. Actually, we got the idea from the boy who climb the monument. Sorry I don't have a photo to show you,it is all on Jack's camera. Everyone knows that I am scared of heights so I only went as far as the third step. (Think of the try again moment. Inside joke with my cousins)
This photo was taken on our way to Montserrat. We don't have advance tickets and I don't think they sell one so we end up sitting on the floor. Initially, everyone planned to sleep on the train but as usual, sleeping didn't pan out. :P That's Jack pretending to look at the Map. Lloyd, Mr. Input(not on the photo),probably had the itinerary in mind. As for myself, I just go with the group. I didn't plan for this trip at all.
This photo was taken as soon as I got off of the Cable Car Ride. I am not good with heights. Everyone knows that at this point so they tease me in between photo shots. They saw how scared I was in the Sagrada Familia Steps. This is a great shot isn't it? I like my tanned skin. Vanity alert! :P

This photo was taken after hours and hours of hiking. I think beside eating and taking photos, we hiked a lot on this day trip. We walked at least 20000 steps on this day. I wish I can show you the photo of the Monastery. It reminds me of Indiana Jones, carved monuments on the wall. Check my facebook account for details. :P The train runs everyhour on our back so we decided to stay at a bar nearby. You'll die to know that the "BAR" that they are referring to is very much similar to the cheap bars -tambayan/inuman sa kanto- in the PH.

The night that we went crazy. The place is called Poble Espanyol. Free entrance at night and 8 Euros at day time. Hahaha! We went the next day to take photos of the place but they asked for 8 Euros so we left. They have a free concert that night. We first went to an outdoor spot and had few drinks. The place is free and it smelt of Ganja. I think you can smell Ganja everywhere in Barcelona.
Originally, me and my roomies planned to have an early night - leave at 3AM. This night turned out to be one of the bests! Markus said the La Terrazza is the place to be in Barcelona and he was right! We paid 18 Euros for the entrance and with that, we got one free drinks. I went for Vodka Redbull of course. I think I left for the loo as soon as I ordered and when I return, Markus got us a round of Tequilla. Tequilla and Vodka is a good combination. I was in the mood after a few minutes and we started dancing. First on the side post then on the ledge. The next thing we knew, we were shouting dance, dance, dance asking the crowd to dance with us. I didn't meet anyone although the couple asked me,as I remember, to go dance with the dutch guy. Meeting someone isn't on my agenda so I didn't take any action. LOL! I like this night out. No inhibitions. Also, this is the night that I discovered that Markus has a salsa hips. He can dance pretty well for an English guy. I am pleasantly surprised. :)

Oh, I forgot to add, the very same night we went to a Filo Restaurant. It is actually more like a carinderia with filos drinking/smoking and talking loudly. Me and Lloyd were seated next to each other and we both can over hear the Filos conversation. It was funny. They were talking about the girl's exes and who got her deflowered. Typical for Filo guys. They can fool around but they want their wives virgins. Anyway, it was a good cheap meal. :)

Day 2: Barcelona Sight Seeing

We had a busy day planned for the next day. We went to the Train Station to buy tickets for the Pamplona and Madrid trip. My friend Melay tried to book the tickets online but couldn't. It turns Spanish everytime she goes to the next step so she gave up. Buying tickets at the train station is epic. For one, they have 2 ticket numbers - one for Telephone booking and one for the queue on the same day - both without English Instructions. Good thing they have an information booth nearby or we will all be very very lost. The service is very very slow. The numbers keep on jumping on the till. It added to the confusion even more. It was lunchtime then so we headed to McDonalds. Oh boy, the slowest fastfood service I've encountered in my life. It took as a good 30 minutes to get our orders and we were 5th in the queue. They put everything in a separate paper bags, read it again, separate. Imagine, one bag for chips, one bag for burger and one bag for softdrinks! Softdrinks, yes you are reading it right and for the finale, one big paper bag for all. I've never seen anything like it. It was very neat for fastfood standards. If you are hungry, do not go to a fastfood restaurant or you'll die of starvation. :P So when we finally had our orders, we head back to the Train Ticket counter and booked the Train Tickets. We are afraid that the tickets will be sold out as the Bull Run Fiesta in Pamplona is very popular. We wasted at least 2 hours in the station but secured our spot in the train. :)
This photo was taken at the Barca Store. I must say, they have better store than the Madrid Football team. I know cause we went to both. We had testosterones with us people! The boys did their shopping here. The jerseys are very expensive - at least 85 Euros for print and shirt.

At the cafe near the Sagrada Familia. We paid 11 Euros to get in and another 2 Euros to use the lift to get a view of the City I guess. You won't be able to see much inside so I don't really recommend going. But the ticket says donation. The Sagrada Familia is still in construction. 30 more years it say.

We went to a long walk/hike to see the Guell Park with Gaudi's creation. It was very long that we were sweaty when we reach the top. The background was overlooking the city of Barcelona. My camera isn't powerful enough to show you the city in great detail. (In the photo - Jack, Me, Lloyd and Melay). I must say, the walk/hike is worthy.

The Drac. It's one of Gaudi's famous creation so I am not sure if taking a photo like this is even legal. I am a Filo and will do anything to have a good photo. :P

This was the night that we lost Melay and Markus. We were supposed to meet on the Port Olimpic but the driver dropped us far from the spot. We waited for at least 30 minutes before we decided to walk to towards the other bar strip only to find out that Port Olimpic was across the road. When we finally found Port Olimpic, we tried looking for them but it wasn't fruitful. So me and my roomies Jack and Lloyd took matters in our own hands and went to the first bar that we saw. Entrance are mostly free on the strip but drinks are a rip off. Drinks are at least 10 Euros per pop. The next day, we asked the couple were they went we were told that they went to a Salsa Bar. The thing is, we stopped half way through our search of them and the Salsa bar is at the end of the strip. Guess we are not meant to see each other that night. :P

Day 1: Barcelona

We didn't get much sleep prior to our flight. We left Reading at 2ish AM to make sure that we will be able to get to the 5Am Gatwick Express trip and we did. The train trip from Reading to Victoria is pretty eventful. We had 6 drunk people on the coach with us and were very loud. Initially, we plan to sleep on the train but the drunkards ruin it for us. Thanks guys!

This photo was taken after lunch at Las Ramblas. We had 1.5 L of Sangria between Me, Jack and Melay. Lloyd arrive later. He couldn't find the place initially.

After 2 glasses of Cava Sangria. One of the alcoholic drinks that I am allergic to. That wouldn't stop me from drinking though. Ehehe! I was drunk at 5PM and has fallen asleep on the table. I only woke up when Markus, Melay's bf arrive.

Taken at Plaza Reial.

We didn't take much photos on the first day cause a. Lloyd and Markus arrive later on the day and b. We are all tired to sight see. We were supposed to go out that night as one of the Filos told us about the Karaoke Bar owned by the Filos but my Roomies, Jack and Lloyd were both knocked down by tiredness. I didn't bother to wake them up after I showered. I was tired and drunk myself. First day has been pretty relaxing.
