One Destination: Jamie + Jill

I don't really know who Jamie is or what she is like.  I only met her twice prior to the wedding.  The first time was in Christmas 2009 and the second time was on her bridal shower, 2 weeks before the wedding.  Jillian or Kuya Ji as we call him, is my cousin.  He is Ruzelle's older brother.  She wanted to be an actress but ended up working in Marketing, he is a fine arts UP graduate and is a freelance director.  Together they make a good story.  Ang cheesy lang.  :)

He proposed in Greenbelt cinema.  He rented the whole place.  Both of their families and friends were there.  She was ecstatic.  It was her dream to see herself in the big screen.  They were hands-on throughout their wedding.  They would fly to Boracay to look for wedding venues and food tasting.  They didn't use a wedding coordinator until the wedding day.  I don't think I can do that to my own wedding.  I am too unorganised..

The wedding is puno ng pasabog!  Both parties siblings participated in the flash mob for their couple's entrance.  I jokingly told Botchok na ituturo ko sha sa end ng performance but that joke's on me.  Di sha nakatingin!  Hahahaha!  To close the program, Kuya and Jamie hired a group of fire dancers.  What we didn't realise is that, they are gonna dance too.  Production number talaga tong wedding.  I super enjoyed it!
Couple's entrance.
  Jamie arrived in a paraw.
Wedding game.  Yes, we do wedding games here.  I don't know if they have something like this in the UK though.

Mr. and Mrs. Leek

Let me tell you first how much I love my friend Melay and how I wanted to get to their wedding.  The wedding is in Nasugbu Batangas, the reception in Tagaytay, Macy did my make up in Cavite and I live in Quezon City.  I woke up late on the day of the wedding.  I normally wake up at 6AM to have a chat and coffee with Lorraine instead I woke up at half past 7AM, left at half past 8AM, reached the MRT at 9AM, took the bus to Baclaran, took another bus to Talaba, from Talaba, I took a jeep to Molino and Macy picked me up from there.  I changed 7 times just to get to Macy's and we drove for an hour and a half to get to Caleruega.

Melay instructed us to arrive 20 minutes before the ceremony started.  Macy, Edgar and I saw her arrived in the bridal car.  She radiated happiness.  I've never seen a bride so happy.  Her image is forever etched in my mind.

At 3PM everyone was ready apart from the priest who arrived late and Melay's friend who arrived after the ceremony.  It was actually okay if she wasn't part of the wedding entourage but she was the person assigned to the light candle.  The coordinator asked me to do the candle instead.  Whilst on our way, I told Edgar and Macy that I don't wanna do the candle and was thankful that as a bridesmaid, I don't really have anything to do in the wedding.  I was wrong.  Hahaha!

I cried on the first sight of Melay walking down the aisle.  I anticipated it but I didn't know that I would be that happy and instead of tears of joy, I had hagulgol of joy.  I wonder how will I do on Joana's wedding.  :P
The priest was good but over the top.  His homily was long.  He should have edited some of his speech and should have sang once.  The only thing I remembered apart from his bad singing was - ordinary things remain ordinary until we found that special someone that makes it extra-ordinary or something like that.  He showed photos of Bike - Markus thought Melay how to cycle in Lake District,  Lager, their first drink was in a pub, I think it was oakford in Reading, Longsilog, Melay cooked filo meals with Markus.  I was expecting Balut cause Macy and Edgar made him eat balut the night after their date in Reading.  In one part of the wedding, Melay was supposed to say "yes father" but she said "I do!" instead which made everyone laughed.  After the wedding, we were allowed to take photos of the newly weds and I broke down when I saw them.  Melay instructed me not to cry as she didn't want to cry so I had to leave and calm down.  Hahahaha!

Macy, Edgar and I left after dinner as I need to go home to Novaliches and my right is badly infected.  I think I might have a conjunctivitis or eye infection and Macy needs to go home to their new born baby.  We left at 8PM and I got home at 12 midnight.

If I love you, I'll do anything for you and this is how I love my friend Melay.  I travelled 8 hours yesterday just to go to her wedding and I prayed hard to delay my conjunctivitis which is acting up for 4 days now.

Enjoy the photos of the newly weds.  :)  I still cry looking at their photos.

The Week That Was

I have been busy sorting my online business that I don't have time  to update this account.  The first two weeks has been very fruitful.  I sold more than 10 of my items and earn half of my credit card bill.  Whew!

Last Thursday, UST, MY Alma Mater, celebrated it's 400 years.  It was like Paskuhan but STAR STUDDED.  I didn't realise that my school produced so much stars from national heroes(dead now), actors, directors, new anchors and to beauty queens.  Yes, beauty queens.  Precious Lara sang.   I wish she didn't now.  :P  On the same day, I also met up with my two closest Uni friends, Trisha and Joana.  It was nice seeing them both.  I wish I had more time to each of them. :(

We all know that I am a notorious double booker.  I won't deny that.  My "meet up" with Divine fell on the same day as my cousin's birthday.  As they were equally important to me, I didn't have the guts to cancel on either of them.  Divine is one of my closest friends from Elementary School.  I lost in touch in High School but found each other again in a Social Networking Site.  True Story.  From then on, we meet each other every time we get the chance.  I felt really bad that I only spent 2 hours with Divine but I really missed my cousins.  I haven't seen them in 8 months.  My nephew and godchild doesn't know me.  When I asked him who I was, he hugged and kissed me and told me that he was sorry.  I told him that I am his aunt and my name is May(my nickname.  LOL).  He called his mum and told her that her classmate from the office was here.  He showed me his dinosaurs.  I told him that I've recently been to a dinosaur place with birds, reptiles etc. and he kept on saying "WOWOWOW".  He asked me to take him there but I told him that it's too far.  It was in Natural History Museum in London.  :P

I am glad to see my cousins.  One will be recording an album now with his band and another directing commercials.  I am so proud of them.  I am so cheesy today.  :P

 Al Fakher.  :P
Financial Executive Lorraine.  LOL!
PS
My friend Macy had her baby yesterday too.  It was a boy but is premature.  Let's pray that the baby is safe.  I don't know how to commute to the hospital.  FML.

Linds and Carol's Wedding

I love weddings.  I can't stress that enough.

Last Saturday, Luke and I attended his mum's wedding.  This is also the reason why my 6 weeks holidays turned 3 months.  I am not complaining though, I get to spend longer time with my family which I haven't seen in a year.  Thanks Lovie!

It was a nice wedding and I was drank at 3PM.  Sorry this has to be me, it is my blog after all.  The ceremony started at 1PM and champagnes were served at 2PM.  I had a glass then double vodka and cranberry.  By 3PM, lunch were served and my lips were numb.  Clear indication that I was drank.  The more alcohol kicked in, the better I feel about talking to people.  I normally don't put in effort in speaking with people unless I know that I have something to speak with them.  I hate small talks with Luke has mastered.  That makes one of us, Thank God!  I met quite a lot of people from Luke's childhood - people that he went to baby school with, his friends' parents and kids that he grew up with.  It was such a pleasant experience!

I was feeling really sleepy after the dessert was served to I asked Luke if I can lie down for a bit.  I ended up sleeping for an hour and sobered up after a cup of coffee just in time for the dance.  The entertainment that night was fantastic.  People danced.  I danced.  I made Luke dance with me.  He said, he only danced to MJ's songs.  Well, I made you dance to Beyonce, Rhianna, etc.  Hahaha!  Thanks for being my dance partner.  You have rhythm after all. xxx

I am not a fan of his three piece suit but it was chosen for him.  I wore my Lanvin and had so much compliments that night.  Luke's mum's friend saw me from a far, he's a bit campy and thought to himself, "she really knows what she is doing".  His words, not mine.  :)

London NYE

The first 30 secs of the fireworks.

People trying to find a good viewing spot.

Last year, I celebrated NYE away from family in Thailand with my dear boyfriend.  This year, to tick the list off from my bucket list, I asked him to celebrate the NY in London.

Going to London from Wokingham in NYE was tricky.  There are no train service from Wokingham til the 3rd of January and the last train to Wokingham departs at 11PM.  That's not even NYE.  Everyone wants to go to London too.  As reported, there were 250,000 who attended the event.  We took the tube and it was very very busy.

Celebrating NYE in London was fun but I don't think I'll do it again soon.  We spent an hour walking from Embankment to Temple Station to find a good spot.  Good thing there were less c*nts that night.  I would advise to go with friends/adults but not with small children.  Dear boyfriend suffered from wearing his boots too.  I told him specifically to wear his comfortable shoes but he liked his cool boots more.  Listen to me next time.  :P  The fireworks lasted for 10 minutes but we got back to Oxford at 3:30AM.  We went with his friends and slept over at their place.  We woke up at 12 noon the next day.  That's how tired we were.

2nd NY's together babe.  3rd if you include Chinese NY.  Happy New Year Everyone!  Hope you had a good one!  :)

What's your NY Resolution?  I'll stick with improving myself.

Feliciano's 2010 Christmas Celebration

I am very lucky that I was able to celebrate Christmas with family yearly.  Last year, the whole family was together in the Philippines and this year, I joined my mum and my sister in the UK to celebrate Christmas.

UK Christmas Celebration is very much different to the one I used to have in the Philippines.  For one, the traditions and practices are different and two, we weren't surrounded by relatives.  In the Philippines, we go to church for 9 consecutive nights to hear the mass.  In the UK, that 9 consecutive nights of mass is compacted to one.  We have people "carolling" at our doorsteps, in the UK, we go to church to hear Christmas Carols.  At a certain age, you don't expect to receive gifts from family and friends.  We give out gifts here and exchange Christmas cards.  At 6AM, my relatives would bang on our door announcing Christmas, at 6AM, we were still in bed.  The practice maybe different but the thought of spending Christmas with the family remains the same.

For Christmas 2010, we prepared food together, went to church together and had meal together.  The next day, we opened presents.  I love the small intimate family meal.  We may not be surrounded by everyone but at least we get to spend quality time together.  I've always wanted to have a family meal all dressed up and I finally had my wish after 13 years of dreaming.  LOL!

The simple Chistmas table setting that gave me sleepless nights.  I had so much ideas and with lack of funds, I end up with this one. :)

Mum's Pre Birthday Celebration

Whilst having my dinner party with my two gorgeous girls Darlene and Donna, my mum told us that she wanted a birthday party for herself as she hasn't experienced "blowing candles" on a birthday cake before.  She is turning 53.  Poor mum.  I, being the eldest, took this as a challenge(like Barney would say, Challenge accepted.  LOL).  I asked her for the party theme, she said she had no idea.  She suggested Christmas.  I told her that it is her birthday and it's not a Christmas Party.  I know that my mum loves flowers and I want her to wear coloured clothes(she is the black and white type) so I emailed everyone to come in coloured clothes.  I chose the shabby chic theme.  I am feeling Cath Kidston, Emma Bridgewater and Rachel Ashwell.  The colour scheme is very subtle and I can use lots and lots of flowers.

I am glad to report that everything went apart from people arriving late.  I am a controlling b*tch and I feel uncomfortable with people not arriving on time.  Plus my friends had to wait for an hour before they were able to eat.  On the plus side, I am happy that everyone was very helpful.  I emailed everyone asking if they can bring food.  Most of them responded with Yes.  I've never seen my nuclear family entertain people before so this is like a first for us.  I was a bit annoyed in the beginning as I don't know what to do(controlling b*tch alert!) but I was able to relax after drinking. No wonder people drink wine or champagne when entertaining a big group of people.  I now know how it feels like.  :P

To everyone who come last night, Big thanks to you all!  It made my mum happy.  She now had a video of her blowing the candle.  Thanks for celebrating the big day with us.  Mum turns 53 on the 24th of December. Another celebration perhaps?  :P
